Hi All, My sweet bonda and then mittai recipe are both similar but only the ratio changes. I love then mittai right from childhood days and even now it is my favorite. I was trying to make it and after a few unsuccessful attempts now I made it. The simple healthy Then Mittai recipe is below, Servings : 5 members. INGREDIENTS : Raw rice – 1 cup. Urad dal – 1/4 cup. Orange food colour – a pinch. Sugar – 1 cup Water – 1 1/2 cup. Oil – for deep frying. Sugar powder – 1 cup. METHOD : Soak rice and urad dal together for 4 hours. Grind them to fine paste without water. The batter consistency should be like ulunthuvadai maavu consistency. Boil sugar and water to one string consistency and keep it warm.Add a pinch of orange food colour to sugar syrup too. Now add food colour to batter and mix well.
