ABOUT ME

Hi,
Thanks for viewing my blog..
I always say Women should not keep herself idle in home.
She must follow her passion, she must do something to keep herself active ,both physically and mentally. But soon after marriage I too forgot about my passion , career and for all day I was thinking only about house chores and cooking.
Then I realized Iam getting lost in household chores but in the meantime I have developed a great interest in cooking.
My interest in cooking motivated me to start a blog and my husband supported me in all aspects.
I use to take note of recipes in notebooks , When my second note was filled and I was looking for 3rd diary ,my husband advised me to keep recording the recipes in blog instead of paper format.
Finally Myhappykitchens.blogspot.in was born , then I never looked back. After 1 year of blogging I opened a website in Tamil language too myhappykitchen.in.My blogs keep me mentally active all day and my food became more tastier 😇.

I learn from many food blogs , books , websites ,TV shows to gather tips and recipes about cooking. And Iam sharing the same with you all.

You can mail me about your kitchen tips , recipes which you want me try and post , request for recipes , pictures of your tried recipes to me though sharanya.skarp@gmail.com.
I will post the same for you in my blog.

you can follow me through FACEBOOK , TWITTER and PINTEREST.

KADAMBA / KANAVA MASALA /SQUID FISH CURRY

Hi, Sea has lot of creatures in it that we can cook and we were much more unaware of many . Squid fish is one among the yummy species which I was totally unaware even after coming to Chennai. One day in market I saw them and surprised that they are selling octopus ( it looked like that to me :)). Then I surfed in net and found actually they are squid ( kadamba / kanava) and not octopus , My friend Saranya cooked this gravy for us during her visit to our home .I copied the recipe from her and tried next week itself.Though the squid fish looks very weird the taste was so yummy and there is no fish odor in that.It just tasted like mutton. The cleaning part is little tricky but easy, I suggest once you finished cleaning dispose the waste immediately out of your house as the waste from squid fish is very smelly and also it starts leaving water .So dispose the waste of squid as quick as possible. Other than that the fish tastes heaven , spicy, yummy and very easy to cook. I have
