TRADITIONAL CHRISTMAS CAKE ( RUM CAKE)

Hi All, Traditional CHRISTMAS CAKE using Rum!! I think so far this is the one cake which I tried beyond my limit.Though the recipe is so simple ,using rum ,brown sugar in cake is new to me.Even I have not tasted Rum cake before.Last year my husband insisted me to make traditional cake for Christmas but I never got guts to try it.But this year I planned this cake ahead and finally got rum , soaked fruits ,baked them and it was yummy.While baking I was scared the whole house was going to fill with Rum smell and if we eat the cake the same odour will come from me also. So scary I closed all the windows and doors while baking 😏 ,But this cake proved me that all my beliefs were wrong.This is one of the best cake I ever baked and also the rum and brown sugar gave wonderful taste,dark brown colour and amazing softness to cake.. PORTUGUESE MALASADAS ( NO BAKING)

Hi All, MALASADAS!! I know the name itself sounds different ! Yes..Malasadas was born in Portugal and is very famous in Portugal local bakeries. I loved the way they made this snack and it is so easy to prepare,Even the ingredients are very easily available.Though the malasadas are deep fried it does not absorb any oil. The easy recipe is as below, INGREDIENTS : FOR YEAST MIXTURE : Dry Yeast - 1 tsp Warm water - 1/2 cup. Sugar - 1/2 tsp. WET INGREDIENTS : Milk - 1/3 cup. Vanilla essence - 1/2 tsp. Egg - 2 nos. Hi All, BASBOUSA !! Does the name sounds different ? But the ingredients are very simple and you can get from your pantry itself. This is an Egyptian dish with healthy ingredients .The sooji cake dazzled with sweet syrup and chilled gives amazing taste .I never thought healthy baking would taste so yummy :) Actual recipe says almond garnishing but I changed it to cherries and also instead of sugar syrup I used honey to drizzle over the cake , you can use sugar syrup also.
