time favorite sponge cake with marble effect and with flying
mulicolours,

TIME : 45 MINS.

INGREDIENTS
:
All
purpose flour 2 cups
Baking
powder – 1 tsp
Butter
– 250 gms
Sugar
– 100 gms
Cocoa
powder – 1 tblsp
Milk
120 ml.
Eggs
– 4
Vanilla
essence – 1 tsp
Salt
– 1/2 tsp
Sugar
– 1/2 cup
Food
colours – few drops ( I used red and yellow).
METHOD
:
- Seive all purpose flour, baking powder well.
- Beat 1/2 cup sugar, butter, salt, vanilla essence well without lumps.
- Seperate egg yolks from egg whites.
- Add one egg yolk at a time to above mixture and beat.
- Add little flour, little milk and mix.keep on adding till flour is added completely.
- Beat until creamy consistency.
- Beat egg whites till foamy.
- Add 100 gms sugar to egg white and beat till mixture turns creamy and thick.
- Add the egg mixture to cake batter and beat till mixed.
- Divide the cake batter to four parts and add cocoa powder to one part.
- Add required colour to rest of the batter and mix.
- In greased,dusted pan add the cake batter layer by layer.
- Using a sharp spatula make swrills around the batter.
- Bake in 170” pre-heated oven for 35-40 mins.
- For Frosting (optional) – mix 1 tsp gelatin to 3 tblsp water and heat till mixed.
- Using double boiler method heat whipping cream till warm.
- Add 25 gms of white chocolate, 2 tblsp butter and mix till melted.
- Add gelatin mix to cream and mix.
- Pour this mixture to baked and warm cake and let it set.
- Slice and enjoy.
