Hi , When my kid loves ketchup , I thought of trying in home. After a couple of attempts I got perfect taste , Inspired by Rita Arora's recipe in Betterbutter , tried this and it was a success. Here recipe for you , INGREDIENTS : Tomatoes – 20 nos. Cinnamon – 3 nos. Cloves – 3 nos. Cumin – 1 tblsp. Coriander powder – 1 tsp. Sugar – 1/4 cup. Chilli powder – 5 tsp. Vinegar – 7 tblsp. Tamarind water – 2 tblsp. Salt – 1/2 tsp. METHOD : In cooker add tomatoes and all spices except chilli powder, vinegar. Boil for 4 whistles. Once pressure subsides , open and let the mixture cool down. Grind it to fine puree and stain it. In kadai , add the ground puree, chilli powder, vinegar , tamarind water and salt. Let the mixture boil till it thickens. When the mixture is taken in spoon, the back side of spoon must be covered with sauce. It is the right consistency. Remove from flame, and let it cool down. Hi, Sea has lot of creatures in it that we can cook and we were much more unaware of many . Squid fish is one among the yummy species which I was totally unaware even after coming to Chennai.One day in market I saw them and surprised that they are selling octopus ( it looked like that to me :)). Then I surfed in net and found actually they are squid ( kadamba / kanava) and not octopus , My friend Saranya cooked this gravy for us during her visit to our home .I copied the recipe from her and tried next week itself.Though the squid fish looks very weird the taste was so yummy and there is no fish odor in that.It just tasted like mutton. The cleaning part is little tricky but easy, I suggest once you finished cleaning dispose the waste immediately out of your house as the waste from squid fish is very smelly and also it starts leaving water .So dispose the waste of squid as quick as possible.
