ORANGE RAIN DROP CAKE

Hi All,
RAINDROP CAKE!! I have noticed this type of cakes in few groups but I never reviewed the recipe.
Recently I came across this video and as the name Orange rain drop cake looked interesting I thought of giving a try.Luckily I was having all the required ingredients handy so I made this cake immediately.
Traditional Japanese rain drop cake does not contains any sweet , it will be served with organic cane sugar.So I tried the same method and I should really admit it was yummiest among yummy..Plain ,silky slices along with brown sugar was really a best combination, Also tangyness of orange gave a pinch of more delicious to this cake.
I made two cakes one with full orange and other with slices only , with slices I tried to bring heart shape but finally it ended it up with kidney shape..Innovative mess :)))
The recipe is very simple and easy to try in home.
 
The interesting recipe is as below for you too,

INGREDIENTS:
Orange – 2 nos.
Sugar – 1/2 cup.
Water – 1 cup for sugar syrup and more for orange boiling and cooling.
Jelatin or agaragar – 2 tsp.
Ghee or butter or oil – 1 tsp or greasing.
Cane sugar / organic brown sugar – 4 tsp.

METHOD :
  1. Soak agar agar in 1/4 cup of water for 10 mins.
  2. Heat 3 cups of water in a sauce pan till boiling temperature.
  3. When water reaches boiling temperature add full oranges to water ,switch off the flame and close the pan for 10 mins.For every 3 mins turn the oranges for even boiling.
  4. After 10 mins remove the oranges from hot water and add it immediately to cold water and leave for 5 mins.Remove and peel the skin and keep it aside.

  5. Boil 1 cup of water and sugar in a pan and when sugar dissolves in water completely , add oranges to sugar water and boil for 5 mins.
  6. Keep turning the oranges for even coating.
  7. After 5 mins remove from sugar syrup and add it in cold water for 1 minute.
  8. In the mean time boil soaked agar agar along with water in low flame till it dissolves completely.
  9. Grease your moulds with ghee or oil or butter and pour the boiled agar agar solution to 1/4 level of moulds , slowly place the oranges in middle of agar agar water.
  10. Refrigerate the mixture for 30 mins maximum.
  11. Remove from refrigerator and run a greased knife along the edges of mould and invert the mould to remove the cake.
  12. Sprinkle organic sugar on the sides of cake and enjoy the cake with sugar.
