TIL LADOO / ELLU URUNDAI / எள்ளுருண்டை

Hi All, 
This one healthy and easy to make ladoo.
Essential for kids . My daughter loves it so I make it often.



Here is the simple recipe ,

INGREDIENTS :
Til / Ellu – 1/2 cup (white or black of our choice – I used white).
Roasted Peanut - 1/4 cup ( remove the skin)
Jaggery – 1 cup.
Cardamom – 2 nos.
Flax seeds – 1 tsp ( optional).
Warm milk – 2 tblsp (optional – if required)
Ghee – 1 tsp.



METHOD :
  1. Dry roast til in low flame till it roasts and aroma releases (do not over roast as it will start leaving oil).

     
  2. Let it cool down completely.
  3. Grind til, peanuts , flax seeds , cardamom for one or two pulse to get very coarse powder.
  4. Never grind to fine powder as the nuts has a tendency to release oil.
  5. In pan add jaggery, little water and heat .
  6. Heat till jaggery melts and forms ball consistency.

  7. When a drop of syrup is added to water, you should be able to make a ball out of it.

  8. Add powdered mixture and mix quickly.

  9. Add ghee and remove from flame.
  10. When the mixture is little warm make balls using greased palm.
  11. If the mixture is tight , add little warm milk and mix , then make balls out of it.
  12. Store in airtight containers and enjoy .
