BROKEN WHEAT PULAO

 Hi All, It has been so long since i posted a recipe. Once the pandemic started ,entire family stayed in home all day, making my time miserable. Right from morning to night I was busy and no time for blogging. I was unable to manage blogging, photography, household chores etc etc. So I stopped blogging temporarily and now thought of resuming it a little. Made this pulao few days before with broken wheat. In Pollachi we use to buy Samba ravai for making upma, here in Bengalore Iam getting samba rava only in few shops other than that shops sell this broken wheat as rava :). And as usual my husband brought this broken wheat as Samba rava. BEEF BRIYANI

Hi All, I brought this beef from Kochi, There in LULU mall I saw a range of meat varieties and wanted to try something new so brought these beef pieces. This is the first time Im cooking beef and it is similar to goat meat and I don’t even find any difference in taste too. Since im sure Im not going to cook beef much so I thought of making it as briyani. The easy and yummy beef briyani recipe is as below, COOKING TIME : 1 HOUR SERVINGS : 5 members INGREDIENTS : Beef – 500 gms. Zeera samba – 2 cups. Onion – 2 nos (big). Bay leaf – 1 no. Star anise – 1 no. Marati mokku – 2 (small). Cardamom – 3 nos. Stone flower – 1 small piece. Mace – 1 small piece. Pandan leaves – 1 no ( optional). Ghee- 4 tsp. Oil – 2 tsp. BRIYANI MASALA

Hi All, Briyani masala is one which you always need to make it in home and store it. Home made masala powders are always best, so if possible make it in home and save them. I brought these spices from Kochi spice market, which was of super quality . If you get chance to visit Kochi never miss spice market for amazing spices. COOKING TIME : 30 mins. SERVING : 1 CUP. INGREDIENTS : Coriander seeds – 1/4 cup. Shahi jeera – 1 tblsp. Pepper – 1/2 tblsp. Nutmeg – 1/2 piece ( if small then add 1). Mace – 2 nos. Green Cardamon – 10 pcs. Cinnamon 1” piece – 2 nos. Marati mokku – 2 nos. Blackstone flower – 2 tsp. Bay leaf – 3 nos ( medium sized). Black cardamon – 3 nos. Star anise – 3 nos. Cloves – 3 nos. Fennel – 1 tsp. Dry red chillies – 6 nos. Hi All, South Indian Kushka , which we cook often in home when we run out of vegs or for simple parties. I served with Soya fry (r ecipe link here ) The simple trick of the aromatic kushka is soaking the spices. Here is the simple recipe of easy , yummy, flavourful kushka, INGREDIENTS : Zeera rice or Basmathi rice – 1 1/4 cup. Cloves – 2 Star Anise – 1 Marati mokku – 1 Cinnamon – 4 Bay leaf – 1 Onion – 2 nos. Green chillies – 2 nos. Chilli powder – 1 tsp. Garam masala or Briyani Masala – 1 tsp. Salt – as required. Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp. Ghee – 2+ 1 tsp. Lemon juice – 1 tsp. Method : Here is the simple video for your easy ref, Soak 1 bay leaf, cinnamon 2 pcs, cloves 3, star anise 1, marati mokku 1 in 1 cup water and refrigerate overnight or for 6 hours . Hi,  This chicken briyani is a fool proof recipe which my mum is following for ages and now her traditional recipe is here, COOKING TIME : 30 MINS. SERVING : 6 MEMBERS. INGREDIENTS : Chicken - 500 gms Zeera rice – 3 cups. Cinnamon - 2 pcs Cloves – 4 pcs Bay leaf – 1 Star anise – 1 Marati mokku – 1 Onion – 1 Tomato – 1 Mint leaves – 1/2 cup. Coriander leaves – 1/2 cup. Lemon juice – 1 tsp. Ghee – 4 tblsp Chilli powder – 1 tsp. Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp. Briyani Masala – 2 tsp. Curd – 2 tblsp. For grinding : Onion – 1 cup Cinnamon – 4 pcs. Cloves – 12 Pepper – 1 tsp. Dry red chillies – 5 nos. Briyani is the name which gives brightness in my family's face but the name rava upma always gives a disgusting reaction in their face😓 So this the twist that I made with rava to make it yummy, and my trial didn't go in vain, upma briyani came out very well and it was too good and yummy.
