FRUITS SALAD ( POLLACHI IYYAPAN KOVIL STYLE)

Hi All,
Summer summer hot hot..Really its too hot here,Unable to bear heat.Iam trying all sorts of foods to maintain body heat.As chitirai Kani festival is coming I planned to post Fruits salad recipe which we devote to God.
In India each and every festival is celebrated with seasonal fruits and sweets that are made according to climate.Same way Chitirai Thirunaal ( April-14) is celebrated as Tamil New year with lots and lots of fruits , Chitirai month will have highest temperature and it will be too hot in India.So it is must to take lot of water , fresh drinks , fruits , fresh vegs in your diet,So based on the climate this day is celebrated with fruits.In Pollachi there is a famous Iyappan temple where they will give this fruit salad as prasadham during Chitirai kani festival.It will taste amazing and I want to try with the same fruits and here is the recipe below,
INGREDIENTS :
Jack Fruit – 8 slices.
Grapes – 1/2 cup.
Apple – 1 no.
Guava – 1 no.
Banana – 1 no.
Ripe Mango – 1 no.
Dates – 5 nos.
Pomegranate – 1/2 cup.
Honey – 2 tsp.
Ghee fried cashews and nuts – 2 tsp.
Ice cream – 1 scoop ( optional)

METHOD : 
  1. Except Grapes chop all the fruits to small pieces.
  2. In a bowl add chopped fruits,grapes and mix gently.
  3. Before serving top with little honey,fried cashews and serve immediately.
  4. If required top with a scoop of icecream and serve.
NOTE :
  1. If you are devoting to God as Prasadham, don't add icecream.
  2. You can add any fruits of your choice.
  3. You can even refrigerate the salad for 1 or 2 hours before serving.But add honey and nuts just before serving.

KADAMBA / KANAVA MASALA /SQUID FISH CURRY

Hi, Sea has lot of creatures in it that we can cook and we were much more unaware of many . Squid fish is one among the yummy species which I was totally unaware even after coming to Chennai.One day in market I saw them and surprised that they are selling octopus ( it looked like that to me :)). Then I surfed in net and found actually they are squid ( kadamba / kanava) and not octopus , My friend Saranya cooked this gravy for us during her visit to our home .I copied the recipe from her and tried next week itself.Though the squid fish looks very weird the taste was so yummy and there is no fish odor in that.It just tasted like mutton. The cleaning part is little tricky but easy, I suggest once you finished cleaning dispose the waste immediately out of your house as the waste from squid fish is very smelly and also it starts leaving water .So dispose the waste of squid as quick as possible. Other than that the fish tastes heaven , spicy, yummy and very easy to cook. I have
