Hi All,
Every Monday my lunch will be very simple either rasam or
any thuvayal or parupu podi..As Sundays will be very heavy lunch ,Mondays will
be very simple and easy to digest.
This Paruputhuvayal is such an easy sidedish that you can
make it in 10 mins and goes great with rice .
The recipe is so simple just fry , grind , mix and top up with a tsp of ghee
or coconut oil and enjoy.
INGREDIENTS :
Toordal / Thuvarumparupu – ½ cup
Garlic – 6 pods.
Coconut – 3 tsp
Peppercorns / Milagu – ½ tsp
Dry red chillies – 3 to 4 nos
Curry leaves – a sprig
Asafoetida – ¼ tsp
Salt – as required.
Water – 3 tsp.
PREPARATION :
1) Dry
roast the above ingredients separately one by one in low flame till they changes
colour.
2) You
can roast curry leaves and asafoetida together as asafoetida powder will burn
soon ,you can add it at the end along with curry leaves.
3) In
your blender first add the roasted ingredients and grind for one round ,
then add water, salt and grind to little
coarse paste.
4) Empty
the thuvayal into serving bowl and serve with hot rice with a tsp of ghee or coconut
oil.
5) This
thuvayal goes great with rice , but for idli and dosa I don’t fell they are
best combination but its purely your choice.
6) Also
it tastes best when fresh , you can refrigerate and use for a day.
HAPPY COOKING!!
