GREEN LEAVES FRITTERS / KEERAI PAKODA



Hi Everyone,
In my home town we grow many green leaves in our garden. So my mum makes various dishes with green leaves, I posted Green leaves bajji with one of those green leaves variety only.When I was in home town she made me this yummy , spicy Green leaves pakoda as evening snack.You can make this pakoda with any green leaves of your choice,Instead of normal pakoda you can make it little healthier by adding green leaves by this way we can add green leaves to kids snack also.
The recipe is as below,

INGREDIENTS :
Green leaves chopped – ½ cup ( In case of small leaves you can add as it is)
Bajji mix – 1 cup
Cooking soda – 1 pinch ( optional).
Onion - 1 no sliced ( big) 
Water – as required.

PREPARATION :

1) In a bowl add bajji mix flour , little water and mix it to form thick batter (like idli batter consistency).
2) Add green leaves ,onions to batter and mix well.
3) Heat oil in wide kadai , once oil gets heated make small balls out of batter and add it to hot oil.
4) Deep fry the balls in medium flame until golden brown ,When done remove from oil and drain the remaining oil.
5) Serve hot with chutney of your choice or enjoy as it is.

NOTES :
1) You can use any green leaves of your choice , I used young Drumstick leaves.
2) Instead of instant bajji mix , you can make using besan flour too (click here for recipe).
