COCONUT THUVAYAL

Hi All, I made this coconut thuvayal along with Briyani / Nonbu kanji. This thuvayal tastes best with any dish like rice, idli, dosa, chapati and bread too. Since it is very easy recipe , I missed to take step by step pictures. Next time while making i will click step by step pictures and update you.  In in order to help you while making kanji , i posted the recipe too. The main flavour of this thuvayal lies in the consistency. The thuvayal must be thick and must be little coarse.Also use fresh coconut which is best for thuvayal. Here is the simple recipe,  INGREDIENTS : Coconut – 1/2 cup ( grated). Urad dal – 1 tsp Channa dal – 1 tsp Dry red chillies – 2 nos. Tamarind – 1” piece – 1 Salt – for taste Asafoetida – 1 pinch. Coconut oil – 1 tsp. CAPSICUM CHUTNEY

Hi All, I mostly make chutney with capsicum, since capsicum salads and in fried rice are not preferred in our house. So in order to make them consume capsicum I make this chutney, you can make   this chutney in any type of bell pepper. Either green, yellow or red too. The chutney is easy to make and goes very well with roti, dosa and idli. The simple recipe is as below, COOKING TIME : 20 mins. SERVING : 3 members. INGREDIENTS : Capsicum (chopped) – 1 cup. Dry red chillies – 3 or 4 nos. Tomato – 1 (small). Onion – 1 no ( medium sized). Channa dal – 1 tsp. Urad dal – 1 tsp. Coriander leaves – 2 tblsp. Salt – for taste. Tamarind – small (optional). Oil – 1 tblsp + 1 tsp. GINGER GARLIC THOKKU

தமிழில் காண : கிளிக்  Hi All, GINGER GARLIC THOKKU / CHUTNEY! Does the name sounds different , Yes! The taste and recipe is also so simple and different. I read this recipe in Butterbetter facebook group written by Mr.Bala Thiru. The thokku is very good for digestion and tasted spicy , yummy too. The simple recipe is as below,  COOKING TIME : 15 mins. SERVINGS : 3 members . INGREDIENTS : Ginger 1” piece – 7 pcs. Garlic – 1/8 cup Tamarind – lemon sized. Salt – as required Dry red chillies – 2 or 3 Gingelly oil/ Ghee / Coconut oil – 2 tsp. Mustard – 1 tsp. Jaggery - lemon sized Turmeric powder- 1/2 tsp. METHOD : Grind ginger, garlic, tamarind, salt, chillies, turmeric to little coarse paste with very little water. RADISH CHUTNEY

தமிழில் காண : கிளிக்  Hi All, RADISH CHUTNEY!! We can make chutney with most of the vegs and we love them. Vegetable chutneys are easy to make ,healthy to eat .This radish chutney goes great with idli , dosa and even with rotis. Tangy , spicy , radish chutney recipe is as below, SERVINGS : 2 members. COOKING TIME : 20 mins. INGREDIENTS: Radish – 1 cup Channa dal – 1 tsp Urad dal – 1 tsp Red chillies - 2 Coconut – 1 tsp Tamarind – 1 cm piece Salt – as required Oil – 2 tsp. METHOD : Scrap radish skin , chop them to fine pieces. Heat 1 tsp oil in a wide pan ,add chopped radish and saute in low flame till radish shrinks in size and turns golden brown.Transfer to a plate. And this is one of the easy chutney you could make in 5 mins. I have tasted similar chutney in my home town , there is a small roadside shop and the shopkeeper gives us this type of chutney folded in Banana leaf ,since then I want to make this type of chutney and then I saw this in a Tv show ,immedialty I bookmarked the recipe. CHANNA DAL CHUTNEY

தமிழில் காண : கிளிக்  Hi All, CHANNA DAL CHUTNEY!! When your pantry runs out of vegs and also no coconut in your house to make chutney , this chutney will help you like heaven. Last week I saw only half tomato and few garlic in my pantry ,So I made this channa dal chutney. With very basic ingredients , the chutney tasted amazing and very filling. The recipe is so simple and here below for you , INGREDIENTS : Channa dal / Kadalai parupu – 2 tsp. Urad dal / Ulunthu parupu – 1 tsp. Tomato –1/2 of big tomato. Garlic – 4 pods. The cooking time for this chutney and ingredients list is also very little so anyone can try it in jiffy and can prepare the yummy,spicy ,chutney in 10 mins. Squid fish is one among the yummy species which I was totally unaware even after coming to Chennai.One day in market I saw them and surprised that they are selling octopus ( it looked like that to me :)).
