CAULIFLOWER NUGGETS

Hi,
CAULIFLOWER NUGGETS!! Last week Sunday we decided to make it as no non-veg Sunday.
But still want something special so made this cauliflower nuggets and egg biryani.I have made chicken nuggets so many times but this time tried the same with cauliflower and it was a hit .
The leftover nuggets I mixed with poha upma for dinner and it was also woowww.

Here below the recipe ,

INGREDIENTS:
Cauliflower florets– 2 cups.
Garlic – 12 nos.
Ginger 1” piece – 2 nos.
Coriander leaves – a bunch.
Salt – 1 tsp.
Chilli powder – 3 tsp.
Egg – 1 no.
Poha – 1 cup.
Oil – for deep frying.


METHOD:

  1. Boil 3 cups of water , when water reaches boiling temperature add cauliflower florets and boil for 2 mins , switch off the flame , close the vessel and let it rest for 10 mins.After 10 mins drain the water completely and let it dry for 5 mins.

  2. Grind ginger , garlic to fine paste , chop coriander leaves to small bits.
    3.Grind poha to fine powder and add a tsp of chilli powder to poha and mix well.


  3. When water drained completely from cauliflower add ginger garlic paste , salt , 2 tsp chilli powder , coriander leaves and mix well .Finally add egg and mix well.Keep aside the marinated cauliflower for 30 mins or more.


  4. After 30 mins of resting ,heat oil in wide kadai . Take each floret roll in poha powder once and deep fry in oil.

  5. Fry till golden brown and remove from oil , drain the oil completely and serve hot.

KADAMBA / KANAVA MASALA /SQUID FISH CURRY

Hi, Sea has lot of creatures in it that we can cook and we were much more unaware of many . Squid fish is one among the yummy species which I was totally unaware even after coming to Chennai.One day in market I saw them and surprised that they are selling octopus ( it looked like that to me :)). Then I surfed in net and found actually they are squid ( kadamba / kanava) and not octopus , My friend Saranya cooked this gravy for us during her visit to our home .I copied the recipe from her and tried next week itself.Though the squid fish looks very weird the taste was so yummy and there is no fish odor in that.It just tasted like mutton. The cleaning part is little tricky but easy, I suggest once you finished cleaning dispose the waste immediately out of your house as the waste from squid fish is very smelly and also it starts leaving water .So dispose the waste of squid as quick as possible.
