KARACHUTNEY / TOMATO ONION CHUTNEY

KARACHUTNEY
When I post this recipe everyone will think whats there in this recipe to post such an easy recipe but the fact is there are many versions of karachutney .The basic ingredients are Tomato and Onions only but the ratios and slight change in frying gives each version each different taste.I will share all the versions I have in my hand with you .
This version of chutney I got from my Aunt and it is in the top list .
Though the taste is awesome and spicy the method of preparing is very easy,
KARACHUTNEY

INGREDIENTS :
Onion                                             –   2 nos (big)
Tomato                                           –   4 nos (medium sized)
Garlic                                              –   4 to 5 pods.
Dry red chillies                                –   3 to 4.
Curry leaves                                   –   a sprig.
Coriander leaves                            –   a bunch.
Gingelly oil                                      –    2 tsp.
Roasted channa dal / pottu kadalai –  1 tsp
Salt                                                  –  to taste. 
PREPARATION :
1)  Chop onions , garlic and tomatoes roughly .

2)  In a kadai add oil followed by dry red chillies when chillies start roasting add onions and garlic and fry till onions turns its colour .
3)  Now add curry leaves and tomatoes and fry till tomatoes become mushy.
4)  Switch off the heat and add Roasted channa dal .
5)  Grind the above to fine paste with coriander leaves and salt .No need to add water,if required add very little amount of water.
6)   Empty the ground chutney to container and serve.
7)   I served this chutney for Paniyaram , you can serve it with idli , dosa , paniyaram , chapathis too.
