GHEE COOKIES ( WITH WHEAT FLOUR)

Hi Friends,
WHOLE WHEAT GHEE COOKIES!! I want to try bakery style ghee cookies for a long time.But I was unable to understand the exact recipe so I kept of researching on it.Then my OMBC friends helped me with the secret behind those cookies , they told me in bakery they add vanaspathi to cookies to get that texture but I want to make cookies healthier so I avoided vanaspathi.
Finally with all those tips and recipes I made this ghee cookies with whole wheat flour and it came out too amazing.. better better than store brought ones.Though they looked different from store brought ones but the taste and crispiness was too good.Thank you my dear friends Ms.Saroja Kumararaja and Ms.Ann Jacob.
Happy to share the recipe with you too,
Yield – 15 cookies.
INGREDIENTS :
Wheat flour – 1 cup.
Organic cane sugar – 1/2 cup.
Ghee – 1/2 cup.
Elaichi / cardamom - 3 nos ( powdered).
Salt – a pinch.
METHOD :
  1. In a wide bowl sieve wheat flour , baking powder , brown sugar together for even and lump free mixing.
  2. The add cardamom powder , ghee and mix to form a smooth dough.
  3. Pre-heat you oven at 160”C 30 mins.
  4. Grease your baking tray ,place coin sized dough on tray and flatten it using fork.
  5. Bake them in pre-heated oven for 30 to 35 mins.
  6. Remove from oven and let the cookies cool down itself.
  7. When hot cookies will be very soft , you cant even remove from tray so let them cool down completely to get crispy and yummy cookies.

  8. Serve with a cup of coffee and enjoy.

    I tried these.. the flavour was very good but it turned out very soft after cooling as well.. any suggestions

      For crispy cookies always bake in low temperature for long time.

    2. Next time try 150" c for 30 mins..cooking time my vary from oven to oven too.
