CHOCOLATE HEALTH POWDER FOR KIDS

Hi All,
I always prepare health drink for my daughter with nuts ,but when Doctor advised us about her allergy for winter season and listed us some foods which to feed her and some foods which should not feed her changed our entire food routine , I changed our entire food style based on her food menu.
Almond / Badam and Flex seeds are one among in the doctor's list which she refused to eat so decided to make something out of it that she likes.She always loves chocolate drinks so made healthy chocolate drink powder with almonds and flax seeds and she loves this drink.

INGREDIENTS :

FOR HEALTH POWDER :
Cocoa powder – 1/4 cup.
Powdered jaggery – 1/4 cup.
Almonds – 20 pcs.
Pista – 15 pcs (optional).
Flaxseeds – 1/8 cup.

HEALTH DRINK :
Milk – 1/2 cup.
Health powder – 2 tsp.
Brown sugar or Jaggery – 1/2 tsp ( optional – if required).



PREPARATION :
  1. Dry roast almonds and pista in low flame till slight brown.Remove them to a plate and let it come to room temperature.
  2. Same way dry roast flaxseeds also in low flame for one minute ,remove them to a plate and let it come to room temperature.


  3. Now in your food processor ( mixie ) add almonds and pista and pulse once or twice to grind them to fine powder ( always grind only in pulse mode to avoid oil leaving out from almond).Empty them to a wide vessel.


  4. Same way grind flaxseeds also to fine powder and add to the almonds powder.
  5. Add cocoa powder and jaggery in your processor and grind for 30 seconds .Add them to the vessel and mix everything.

  6. Sieve everything together and grind the residing lumps again and sieve.
  7. Same way sieve thrice or more to ensure everything is grounded to fine powder and mixed evenly.
  8. Store them in Airtight container and serve when required.
HEALTH DRINK:
  1. Heat milk in sauce pan and when milk foams up , remove from flame.
  2. Add 2 tsp of health drink powder to hot milk, sugar ( if required) and stir well.
  3. Let the milk rest for 5 mins so that the taste blends with milk completely.
  4. Enjoy hot milk and refrigerate it to enjoy cold chocolate health drink.
NOTES :
  1. Use good quality chocolate powder.
  2. Always dry raost everything in low flame.
  3. You can replace powdered jaggery with normal sugar too , as it is health drink I used powdered jaggery.

KADAMBA / KANAVA MASALA /SQUID FISH CURRY

Hi, Sea has lot of creatures in it that we can cook and we were much more unaware of many . Squid fish is one among the yummy species which I was totally unaware even after coming to Chennai.One day in market I saw them and surprised that they are selling octopus ( it looked like that to me :)). Then I surfed in net and found actually they are squid ( kadamba / kanava) and not octopus , My friend Saranya cooked this gravy for us during her visit to our home .I copied the recipe from her and tried next week itself.Though the squid fish looks very weird the taste was so yummy and there is no fish odor in that.It just tasted like mutton. The cleaning part is little tricky but easy, I suggest once you finished cleaning dispose the waste immediately out of your house as the waste from squid fish is very smelly and also it starts leaving water .So dispose the waste of squid as quick as possible.
